The minister of finance and coordinating minister of economy, Ngozi okonjo-iweala,and the governor of the central bank of Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi have called for the overhauling of the educational sector.
The minister made this declaration t the 2012 Isaac Moghalu foundation lecture in Lagos saying that the existing frame work for administering education in the country by various tiers of government was unclear.
She said that the quality of the education system and the associated learning outcomes are poor adding that the government spending on education in Nigeria is higher than what some countries are spending.

Meanwhile, the CBN governor has called on Nigerians to start asking for merit in those who governs the country.
